Fokke Brink

I was born in Holland in 1945 and started my way with Reiki in 1984. In 1987 I was initiated as a Master by Phyllis Lei Furumoto.

I was trained as a police officer, social worker, teacher for social academy and psycho-hypnotherapist.

After 10 years in successful private practice with psycho - hypno - and past life therapy, I started to travel around the world studying, and teaching Reiki, Reiki-Symbol Workshops, Japanese Calligraphy and Seal-carving.

I had several teachers in calligraphy, seal carving and Chinese/Japanese painting in Holland, USA and Japan.

In 1991, I met my teacher Eido Tai Shimano Roshi, the abbot of Dai Bosatsu Mountain Monastery, in the Catskill Mountains in upstate New York. He guided me in calligraphy, Zen and the old wisdom of Reiki.

To understand the traditional Reiki-way in its native environment, I went in 1995 to Japan to study the Traditional Japanese Arts in Oomoto, Kameoka. This was also the beginning of my connection with the Japanese Master community and my deeper investigations of Reiki in Japan. My Japanese colleague, who guided us (Maria and me), is now a member of the Traditional Usui Shiki Ryoho Gakkai. The grandmaster of our discipline, Phyllis Lei Furumoto, accepted our invitation to join us on this journey and tasted for the first time in her life the country where her grandmother Hawayo Takata found the gift of Reiki.

In the year 1990, I was blessed to be invited to visit Russia, where I started teaching as one of the first masters ever. In good and very bad times I was there to teach and to live with my Russian friends and students, sometimes 4 times a year and some months in a row. I still return to Russia once a year. In 1994 Phyllis Lei Furumoto accepted my invitation to be introduced to the Russian Reiki community.

For me, Reiki is a spiritual discipline and my personal spiritual path; the highway of my life.

I am an active member of The Reiki Alliance since 1987.

Since 1997 I am a Minister of the Universal Brotherhood in the USA, and a Minister/Director since March 2003. I am allowed to inaugurate others as a Minister in their life.

I was born in Waldernbach, a small village in Westerwald, Germany, in 1952. There I was dreaming for 24 years of the big world, and worked as a pharmacy-assistant in a small town. I tried to integrate myself in the village community, but I did not succeed and my life brought me to the Black Forest.
When my wish to be a mother, and other ideas I had about my life were not fulfilled, I changed my profession and became a nurse, which allowed me to fulfill myself in a practical way.

In 1987 Reiki entered my life. My father died from cancer and we as a family were allowed to support him up to the end of his life. This activated my desire to support and accompany people in difficult life-circumstances. My tools for this should be: Reiki, my professional education, my life-experiences and my intuition.

In 1994 I was initiated as a Master in the Reiki discipline by Fokke Brink. My life-path was now with Reiki, as a spiritual discipline, directed and bringing the knowledge in daily-life practice was my aim.
In the same year I followed the call of my heart, against my mind and my surrounding, in living a vision together with Fokke Brink, and we went out into the world with the Reiki Heal Mobile.

For 5 wonderful years we lived in this mobile home, lettered with huge Reiki Symbols and texts, in Europe's streets and beautiful places. Beside this we flew to other countries like Russia, USA, Peru, Japan and others, to teach Reiki and to expand our knowledge and wisdom.
In 1999 we stayed during the winter months in Greece, enjoying the warmth of the South. In the South of the Peloponnese we felt in love spontaneously with a piece of land, and we soon realized that we would settle down there. Since February 2000 we have lived in Foutia-Monemvasia, and we have opened our paradise for people who want to enjoy this with us and who can accept our support.
Here I feel at home.

We both honor the spiritual lineage of the Reiki tradition, coming through the Senseis:
Mikao Usui, Chujiro Hayashi, Hawayo Hiromi Takata and Phyllis Lei Furumoto.

We started our journey together in the Reiki Heal Mobile, a mobile home of 6.20 meter long. After one year of deep joy together, we change this small one for one of almost 11 meter (32 feet) long, with slide-out living room.

On all the sides of this Reiki Heal Mobile were huge Reiki Symbols and other Reiki texts. We traveled in this way all over Europe, teaching and explaining about Reiki. To answer between 2 and 20 questions a day about Reiki was normal for us. This was a big challenge, to be out in the world with Reiki in this intensive way and to live it honestly in our lives. The Reiki Heal Mobile became the world's biggest advertisement for Reiki and an inspiration for many people in the world. This was a big gift and a big teaching too.

Since 2004 we organize, together with our colleagues Rupert Weis and Monika Hill, the German Reiki Festival in Gersfeld. A highlight for Reiki studends from all Lineages from Germany and surrounding countries.
